Sam Thorp demonstrates gestural figure drawing. Gesture drawing is more concerned with capturing the energy of the figure over the likeness. The first color is used to as construction lines to block out the figure. This also gives the figure it’s energy as well as mass. The second color is used to define features and details with a contour line. The two colors create a nice depth and contrast to the finished work. All done in about three minutes.
