Big Tasty

Big Tasty learned to draw simple fish from his mom at a mere 1 1/2 years old, he then moved to extensive sketchbook sessions with his dad. He continued to draw his whole life. The humor that springs in his work is the result of early years listening to his dad’s Frank Zappa albums and watching Monty Python. Upon leaving high school he attempted to attend art school at the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana. However the desire to travel caused him to leave after less than two years. Subsequently living in Missouri, Chicago, and Los Angeles and taking multiple trips to Europe had a profound effect on the imagery and characters in his work. During this period Big Tasty developed his love for the ONE TRUE DRAWING UTENSIL, the Rapidograph pen. Big Tasty’s clients have included Everloving Records, Elwood Clothing, and BERET! America’s Best French Hardcore Band. He shows regularly at galleries across Los Angeles, most notably Burbank’s Hyaena Gallery and the Congregation Gallery in Hollywood. Big Tasty is the creator of the “20 Dollar Doodle” concept where one can request anything drawn in ink on an 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper for the low price of 20 dollars!
