John Mahoney has directed several documentaries including one on Tyrus Wong, the designer for the Disney film Bambi and one on Doug Chang, the art director for the new Star Wars films.

He’s also worked on such films as Kingdom of the Sun, Atlantis, and Treasure Planet. Shot the stage show, Madugada, a vampire, Flamenco dance story, as well as written and directed several short films, one of which was accepted into the New York International Independent film festival.  He received a BFA from Pratt Institute in Illustration. Also studied at Art Center College of Art and Design, NYU, UCLA.

He is currently teaching at Lucasfilms, Gnomon School of Visual Effects, and Cal Arts.
